Hysteroscopy is an endoluminal endoscope that can be used as an aid to visualize the uterine cavity or to direct the performance of a variety of intrauterine procedures. The procedure is done by using a hysteroscope, a thin and lighted tube that is inserted into the vagina to examine the cervix and inside of the uterus. This method is used to diagnose inside the uterus and treat causes of abnormal bleeding.
